Animal Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese form of healing, usually translated as "universal life energy". It is a holistic, natural, hands-on healing system that touches on all levels, mind, body and spirit. Reiki Practitioners channel energy through the crown chakra (top of head) through the heart and out through the hands. Reiki goes directly to the source of the problem, even if it is unknown to practitioner and client, and heals at a level and intensity that a being is open to receive.
Reiki energy has several basic effects: it brings about deep relaxation, destroys energy blockages, detoxifies the system, provides new vitality in the form of healing universal lifeforce energy and increases the vibrational frequency of the body. A Reiki treatment can be given in person, with the hands of the practitioner placed on or at a short distance from the client; or, since Reiki is energetic in essence, it can be send across a distance, across a room or to another geographic location. Reiki can be used to maintain health and energetic balance in a healthy being, to heal illness, injuries, emotional and spiritual problems and to ease the transition between life and death.
Reiki can help animals in many ways and has many qualities that make it an ideal complementary therapy for animals. It is gentle, painless, non-invasive and stress-free and, just like in people, heals at all levels of an animal's being: physical , mental, emotional and spiritual. It goes to to those issues most in need of healing, even those unknown to the practitioner. It is a powerful tool for emotional healing following trauma, abuse, neclect, fear and trust issues, reaching deeply into the damaged spirits.
Reiki is not limited to dogs and horses, its healing energy benefits all living creatures. Although it is powerful and always goes to the source of the problem, Reiki can do no harm to the recipient or the practitioner. Reiki is a simple method that can heal complex problems.
Reiki is not a substitute for professional veterinary medicine. It is a non-medical therapy that complements and supports all other healing therapies, including traditional veterinary medicine.
